What treatments can I expect to receive?

Once specific problems have been identified, we can then tailor treatment to each individual case.

Each treatment begins with a gentle Tui na of the spine to physically feel out the areas of blockage, pain or restriction, and determine whether deeper massage is required. Tui na (pronounced "twee-nah"), is a Chinese medical massage and a core component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and one of the most practiced therapies in China. The name itself, "push-grasp," describes the core techniques used in this form of bodywork, and aims to stimulate specific points in the body, to regulate energy and blood flow, and promote healing.

The following treatments may then be applied:

Qi gong energy release

Qi Gong translates as “energy work” and is the practice  of controlling and manipulating the movement of energy internally to achieve better energy flow throughout the body.

Additional to energy work, we utilise an array of rebalancing techniques, floats and releases, in order to free up any restrictions in the spine and joints.

Cranial balancing

Cranial bones are not fused together but are interconnected  by fibrous joints which allow subtle degrees of movement. There are 22 bones in skull, primarily to protect the brain and support the face

During trauma, just like any area of the body, cranial bones can be subjected to impact and ensuing restrictions.

The objective of cranial balancing is to use subtle, energy-based movements to release any restrictions.

Fire cupping

Cupping is an ancient therapy dating back to 1550 BC in Egypt. It has gained popularity in recent years, with endorsement from celebrities and athletes.

The technique involves glass cups creating a suction on the skin. Cupping allows for a much deeper penetration than massage alone, and permits the movement of blood and energy from deeper in the body up to the surface. This  permits the dispersal of toxins, and stagnated areas to be refreshed with fresh blood, fluid and energy.

Amno fu abdominal massage

An oil-based massage, using unique hand techniques, Amno fu is based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine belief that the state of our internal organs directly effects our health. Blocks, knots and tangles in the abdomen restrict the flow of energy which affects our organs, and in turn leads to ill health. The internal organs and digestive system can be hugely impacted by stress, traumas as well as accidents and operations.

Gentle abdominal massage clears the blockages, balances the organs and provides a better flow of energy.

How many treatments will I need?

As with any illness, individual responses to treatment will vary. We ask that you commit to a first consultation/ treatment and a follow up 7-10 days later in order to ascertain what progress has been made.

After that, it is an individual choice where to go from there. We are available for regular top-ups as well as for the sudden onset of symptoms from a known ailment.
